Why does my puppy roll on her back when I sniff her?

Every morning, my Chihuahua will come up to the bed and try to play. She’ll sniff my face, gently chew my ears and lightly paw at my face to try and get me out of bed. When I mess around and sniff her around the face and neck, like a dog, she rolls on her back and looks at me as if she’s waiting for me to finish LOL

Does anybody know why?

Rolling onto her back is a sign of submission.

She’s saying, "I trust you enough to expose my vulnerable underside to you".

She is submitting to you, telling you that she is no threat to you and acknowledging you as above her in the pack order

She’s submitting to you. As in; you’re the alpha.

It’s a sign of submission. She’s accepting your dominance and showing that she trusts you by exposing the most vulnerable part of her body to you.
